Toque: Western Front’s Annual Fundraiser & Craft Fair
December 1 @ 6:00 pm - December 3 @ 5:00 pmFree
Toque, Western Front’s Annual Fundraiser and Craft Fair, takes place Dec 1-3 at the Western Front (303 E. 8th Ave). Curated by the Western Front, this year’s fair is a showcase of 27+ Vancouver-based artists and designers with wares ranging from textiles, ceramics and jewellery, to books, bags and candles. Proceeds support Western Front’s year-round art and music programs.
Regarded as one of Vancouver’s best curated craft fairs, TOQUE has been cited as ‘the most artful of all the artisan fairs’ by Georgia Straight, ‘a true artists’ fair with a solidly local feel’ by Scout Magazine, and has been featured on BT Vancouver with Susie Wall, BC Living, Montecristo Magazine, and more.
TOQUE is Western Front’s largest annual community event attracting approximately 2000+ visitors from across Metro Vancouver. Also described as “the craft fair for people who say they don’t like craft fairs”—expect the arts community in attendance, and in-the-know crowds invested in supporting the local art scene.
Western Front has commissioned artist Katie Lyle to design the annual limited-edition tea towel available exclusively at Toque.
And as part of Western Front’s Holiday Membership Drive, there will be prizes for those who join or renew their membership to the Western Front.
The fair spans three days – Friday to Sunday, Dec 1-3. Opening night is a party, where you can shop and enjoy a drink and a bratwurst. The fair continues Saturday and Sunday with a bake sale and activities for kids.
